In a world where people are increasingly getting their information from online sources like Google and voice assistants that scour the web for answers are becoming more mainstream in people’s homes, maintaining fresh content online is more important than ever.
One of the main places that real estate agents can continuously provide updated, local, informative content is on their own websites. Agent websites should be about more than just the search feature – they should have a component that allows them to consistently post updated information so current clients, prospective clients and search sites like Google are all receiving the timely content they’re looking for.
Enter: the blog.
The word “blog” comes from the combination of the words “web log,” and many different forms of blogs have spawned from the initial written versions. Today, and contrary to some popular beliefs, blogs are still very much alive and still very useful in conveying and providing the answers to questions people may have about a particular property or a certain community, or even about the overall process of buying and selling a home in a specific area. That’s why we incorporated a ‘blog option’ with our CENTURY 21 Redwood Realty agent websites. With a flick of a button, any of our agents can begin blogging in minutes.
Lori Duke, an agent from our Frederick office, has just launched her blog this year, and her first blog post focuses on delivering information about her community of North End in Frederick, Maryland. In this post, Lori not only establishes herself as a knowledgeable local REALTOR®; she also provides valuable, up-to-date market information about her 21701 zip code and North End real estate.
Another C21 Redwood agent actively engaged in using the blog on her agent website is Suzanne Brady of the 21DreamTeam out of our Fredericksburg office. Suzanne uses her blog to cover any number of real estate subjects that eager buyers, sellers and people living in the area would like to know about. Ranging from information about housing styles that are popular in her area to how to buy a home in her area to local community information about what to do during different school holidays, Suzanne provides a plethora of varied content that will appeal to anyone who has interest in either buying or selling a home or in the Fredericksburg area at large.
Leveraging blogs – which can be written words, pictures, and video content – is still a great way of getting all the information that’s currently in your head out into the world so other people can find it. They learn more about you while finding value in the knowledge you provide. This value proposition is what makes the difference between being a real estate agent and being the real estate agent.
