Video is more important than ever in the online world and is a great tool to use in your real estate business. There are 5 types of videos you should consider incorporating into your social media content when using those platforms for real estate.
Agent Profile Videos
These days, we don’t always have the luxury of making a first impression with someone face-to-face. Often, people will Google your name to learn more about you before they decide to call or email you. While agent profiles online usually contain a picture and a short bio explaining who they are and what they do, why not supercharge those profiles and use video? Giving people a visual introduction - your face, your voice - allows potential clients to start to understand who you are and why they should work with you. It’s a way for them to feel like they already know you before you ever meet. And, when you include client testimonials in your profile video, it’s a powerful tool to be used anywhere from the online space to your pre-listing kit.
Real Estate Client Testimonial Videos
More and more, client reviews and ratings are becoming the standard that most people judge everything by. Looking for a good restaurant? You search it online and read the ratings. Trying to decide between several hotels? You’ll probably at least partially make the decision by reading other people’s reviews of those hotels. That behavior of choosing who to work with extends to services, including real estate agencies and people.
You probably already collect testimonials of some sort from your previous clients...but do you use video to capture their thoughts? If not, now’s your chance! First, of course, ask for their permission. Then, to make things easier for you and them, have a set script of questions that you ask everyone, and capture it on video. Don’t get too worried about pauses, "ums", or "ahs"; they make it all that more authentic. Keep all your testimonials in one place, either in a YouTube channel playlist or on a dedicated page on your website. Then, put that link in your email signature, send it out to prospective clients, and include it across your marketing.
Real Estate FAQ Videos
The power of the online world is that knowledge is literally at our fingertips. However, it can be difficult for people to sift through all that information and know what’s actually pertinent to them and their situation. Help people using FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) videos about real estate on the different online platforms.
What are some questions you should include? Take a look at your inbox, think back to your client conversations, and listen to the questions people ask in your voicemail - all those questions are ripe to be answered on video! As a bonus, by filming answers to frequently asked questions, you’re sure to give a consistent answer to anyone who asks while saving you time. So, the next time someone asks you a question you’ve already answered, simply send them a link to your FAQ video.
Behind the Scenes Videos
People who don’t work in real estate don’t really know what real estate agents do with their time. The solution? Show them (in a video)! Popular behind the scenes videos involve the work that goes into staging a home prior to it going on the market and tours of various homes in and around your neighborhood. Another behind the scenes video you can create could showcase getting your marketing ready for a home you’ve just listed. Think about various ways to show your work. We all know that being a real estate agent isn’t always easy. Now it’s time to show everyone else.
Sneak Peek / Coming Soon Videos
Everyone likes to be the first one to see new things, right? The same holds true for real estate. Help fulfill people’s desire to be the one to get a first look by providing them with sneak peek and coming soon videos. Just sign a listing agreement? Shoot a quick video on your phone standing on the street where the property is located, with the call to action to be to contact you if someone wants a ‘first look.’ Or give them a quick look around a property before the professional photos and video become available. Think about ways you can give people information more quickly and in a format they like.
There are 5 different kinds of videos you should be using in your real estate business right now. Which one will you create today? However you decide to use video in your real estate business, make sure you have a plan in place for creating and providing them on a consistent basis.
